Who We Are
Mount Carmel Helps, Inc. (MCH) is a trusted leader and valued non-profit organization with an active 501 ( c) 3 in good standing. Founded in Jacksonville, North Carolina by the Chief Executive Director, Dr. Linda Gary. The organization is supported by a Board of Directors. MCH has operated for over twenty years. During this time, MCH has coordinated and distributed hot meals, food boxes, and essential products to individuals and families. We are partners with great agencies such as the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina; we serve the elderly, the homeless, the youth, the veterans, numerous churches and last but not least, the military. There are no barriers to serving all ethnic and racial groups. We're dedicated to helping every lacking person succeed. We envision helping by confronting the basic needs in people's lives, thereby making it possible for them to experience life's fullness, expression of humility, and gratitude in every interaction. These core values enable our organization to be effective in community outreach. We have reached the most vulnerable and marginalized people, including the mentally challenged and those without transportation. MCH has achieved World-Class recognition for mitigating the spread of COVID-19.
What We Do
Eliminating food insecurity is the basis of what we do, coupled with counseling, our organization educates, screens for other social determinants of health, and does referrals to our local physicians and other human service providers. We offer Certified Chaplain services, mental and health care providers and our Kids Kafe provides hot meals to children and their families.
