Who We Are
Carobell is commmitted to promoting independence and self-direction for our individuals and clients in a loving, caring and safe environment. Our residential program provides professional services such as medical and nursing care, as well as psychological, dietary, physical therapy care, and adaptive physical and recreational activities. The indoor swimming pool and outdoor spa keeps everyone cool and active during the summer months. And it's not unusual to see the Carobell buses out in town for a day trip, volunteering at The Hem of His Garment or Salavation Army, dropping off pop tops at Ronald McDonald House, or just out shopping and grabbing a bite to eat.
What We Do
Carobell, Inc is a private, non-profit organization providing services for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. Carobell was founded in 1969 by two unique women who wanted to provide the community with the specailized services needed for children with I/DD. Now, 46 years later, with the dedication of staff, the community and our volunteers, Carobell has grown from a single home in Jacksonville serving 6 small children to 6 residential homes for individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, a Vocational Center, a Summer Day Camp and Respite program. We offer Adult Developmental Vocational Programs at both our Hubert and Morehead City campuses. Our first and foremost mission is to empower individuals to reach their fullest potential.
