Therapeutic Foster Care and Supportive Employment

Easter Seals UCP in Jacksonville is a therapeutic foster care agency that serves Onslow and Carteret counties. Each year we host several events for our foster families and the children in their care. Easter Seals/UCP-Jacksonville also organizes a special event/picnic each summer and a holiday party annually. This year we hope to raise enough money to take our 20 families and the children in care to Mike’s Farm for the hayride and cookout.

We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without our foster parents. We believe it is important to recognize and acknowledge the hard work and dedication our foster parents put into their service, providing therapeutic homes to the youth we serve. We strive to provide a positive, family-centric event for the youth in our therapeutic foster care program because every child deserves to feel welcome and appreciated when they are unable to be with their own biological families.

As you know, Mental Health Service Providers are the unsung heroes who provide services to children, adults and families who struggle with daily living. Easter Seals UCP works side by side with adults and children who are managing disabilities and mental health challenges. We serve as a nurse, therapist, social worker, job coach, teacher, psychologist, care giver and a compassionate friend all rolled into one. Our purpose is to help neighbors in need to achieve better days and live their best possible life.
