Description

Do you love to teach and are comfortable with public speaking? Are you fueled by the desire to raise awareness and understanding of Alzheimer's and related dementia diseases to make a difference in our communities? Do you need flexible daytime, weekday, evening and/or volunteer opportunities?

Then you are an Alzheimer's Association Community Educator!

Alzheimer's Association Community Educators are representatives of the Alzheimer's Association who cultivate opportunities in professional, civic and personal spaces to raise awareness and deliver 30-60 minute educational programs like "Know the 10 Signs, "Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia," and "Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body."

Most volunteers commit to giving 1-2 presentations a month, about a 4-hour commitment. An ability to travel to surrounding counties is helpful and so is researching, asking and scheduling your own presentations to local professional and civic groups, businesses, senior and health-center organizations and the general public.
