The district chair is the top volunteer leader in our local Scouting district, the Southern District. You’ll lead a team of other volunteers to help support Scout units (packs, troops, crews) in your area. Your job is to keep things running smoothly, build community support, and make sure Scouts have the best experience possible.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead & Support Volunteers: Guide the district committee and subcommittees
Plan & Promote Programs: Help organize events, training, and activities
Connect with the Community: Build partnerships and raise awareness
Recruit & Train Volunteers: Find great people to join the team
Support Fundraising: Help with efforts like Friends of Scouting
Communicate & Represent: Serve as the district voice on the council board
