Volunteer: Southern District District Vice Chair


The district vice chair is a volunteer leader who supports the district chair in overseeing the activities of the district in our local Scouting district, the Southern District. You’ll lead a team of other volunteers to help support Scout units (packs, troops, crews) in your area. Your job is to keep things running smoothly, build community support, and make sure Scouts have the best experience possible.

Merit badge counselors are needed to work with youth in all professional fields.  There are 130+ possible merit badges that expose youth to hobby and career interests. Merit Badge counselors need to be at least 21 years of age with expertise or vocation in the specific merit badge as interest.  Volunteers must be willing to complete a BSA application with $25 fee, take the BSA youth protection and pass a criminal background check.
