Who We Are
Philippians Place is a local nonprofit organization that provides men returning from incarceration with a faith-based comprehensive transitional housing program to attain independence. We have a Thrift Store that supports this program.
What We Do
We are the hands and feet of Jesus who serve the least of these, men returning from incarceration. We provide participants a supportive Christian community and skills training as they progress forward towards self-sufficiency and long-term housing. Our Vision is to disciple, equip, and house men reentering society and facing homelessness.
How We Accomplish This:
A Place to Rest: They will be provided a place to call home. A Community to Guide: They will receive direct assistance from Case Managers, Coaches, Peer Supports, Program Directors, Volunteers, Pastors, Church Leaders, and other community agencies to provide counsel and assistance through the program. A Financial Plan: They will: learn financial budgeting and planning, learn the necessary strategies for rebuilding credit, pay off debt, and build savings. A Plan to Thrive: By the conclusion/graduation of our program, they will have established a new self-sustaining lifestyle that is spiritually sound through the guidance and assistance of our program leaders and community.
We need volunteers to be part of our Men's Transitional Housing Committee that oversees all aspects of our Reentry Program. We need Coaches who can assist men in completing their weekly goals and give them Godly guidance and wisdom to help them grow into the men that God has always planned.
We have a Thrift Store that is open to the public. Income raised from the sale of donated items in our store goes directly to supporting our general fund and Transitional Housing Program. We accept gently used furniture, kitchen & household items, baby items, decorations, books, and toys. We do not accept clothes, shoes, old electronics, home remodeling items, or mattresses. We can schedule pick-ups if necessary.
We need people to volunteer at our store to help clean and organize donations and the store, as well as assist with pickups and deliveries.
