The ReStore is growing and is in need of cashiers to help ring up customers!

Proper training of the cash register, customer service, troubleshooting and light paperwork will be provided.

Volunteers will receive discounts on purchases made in the ReStore through our Friends of Habitat Club Membership Program.

General Summary: The positions's primary responsibility is to greet customers that visit or call the ReStore, answer questions and provide information about the ReStore and about the Habitat affiliate, scheduling donor pickups and communicating pickup schedule with drivers. Position is also responsible for assisting other volunteers and staff as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greet customers by phone or in person and answer questions pertaining to general information

 

  • Explain the layout of the ReStore and the range of inventory on hand

 

  • Escort customers to specific items when appropriate and explain the purchase options

 

  • Operate the cash register and serve as the cashier for sales transactions

 

  • Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions

 

  • Adhere to and enforce shopper, donor and volunteer policies for held or purchased items

 

  • Explain to shoppers, donors, and volunteers ReStore regulations when needed with excellent customer service

 

Qualifications

  • Display excellent customer service skills to donors, shoppers and volunteers both in person and on the telephone

 

  • Must be people-oriented, flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to advocate the mission of Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity

 

  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize and handle multiple functions simultaneously & communicate clearly and courteously, both verbally and in Good comunication skills

 

  • Friendly and helpful attitude

 

  • Previous cash handling experience preferred

 

  • Good math skills - ability to use a calculator

 

  • Ability to do light lifting

 

  • Ability to stay on feet for extended period of time

 

  • Reference from another business or organization is a must
